Battersea Power Station
Iconic four chimney coal station on the Thames in London, closed in 1983.
Overview
Built in two halves between the 1930s and the 1950s, with a brick exterior designed by Giles Gilbert Scott. Its chimneys appear on the cover of the 1977 Pink Floyd album Animals. After decades of failed schemes it reopened in 2022 as shops, offices and flats, with Apple as an anchor tenant.
