Flamanville 3
1,650 MW EPR on the Normandy coast, the first new French reactor in a quarter century.
Overview
Construction began in 2007 with completion first planned for 2012. Weld defects and design problems pushed costs to several times the original estimate. The reactor was connected to the grid in December 2024, becoming the most powerful in France.
