Overview
Eight units commissioned 1964 to 1971 burned Latrobe Valley coal with the highest emissions intensity in the industrialized world. Engie closed it almost overnight in March 2017, cutting Victorian baseload sharply. Mine rehabilitation and redevelopment followed.
