Krasnoyarsk Dam
6,000 MW dam on the Yenisei River completed in 1972.
Overview
Twelve 500 MW turbines made Krasnoyarsk the largest power plant in the world at its dedication. The dam regulates navigation and supplies power to the Krasnoyarsk aluminum smelter. An unusual ship lift carries vessels past the 124 m high concrete wall.
