Overview
Ten 640 MW units entered service 1978 to 1985. In August 2009 turbine 2 tore loose under vibration, flooding the powerhouse and killing 75 workers, the worst hydro accident in decades. Fully rebuilt by 2014, the plant anchors Siberian aluminum industry supply.
