Overview
Sixteen 1,000 MW turbines, the largest single units ever built, entered service in 2021 and 2022. A 289 m tall arch dam anchors the lower Jinsha cascade. Full operation lifted Chinese clean energy output materially and completed the densest cluster of giant hydro stations on the planet.
