6,448 MW gravity dam on the Jinsha River feeding East China grids.
Overview
Eight 800 MW turbines started up between 2012 and 2014. It is the lowest step of the Jinsha cascade, working with Xiluodu to stabilize Yangtze flows. Outbound 800 kV UHVDC lines carry power more than 1,700 km to Shanghai.
