10,200 MW station on the Jinsha River upstream of Baihetan.
Overview
Twelve 850 MW turbines began operating in 2020 and 2021. The 270 m double arch dam introduced low heat cement concrete placement at record scale. Wudongde anchors the upper Jinsha cascade and ships power to Guangdong over ultrahigh voltage lines.
