Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant
5,700 MW plant on the Dnieper, the largest nuclear station in Europe.
Overview
Six VVER-1000 units completed by 1995 normally supplied a fifth of Ukrainian power. Russian forces occupied the site in March 2022, and repeated shelling nearby and loss of offsite power events have kept it under IAEA watch ever since. The reactors sit in cold shutdown for safety.
